Duties and Responsibilities

  • Remain compliant with all Agency and program specific policies and procedures
  • Make repairs to the residences and its contents
  • Provide interior improvements such as patching drywall, painting, etc. as needed
  • Maintain and monitor all residential building systems; performing routine preventive maintenance as necessary
  • Maintain exterior premises of the residential property including snow removal, grass cutting, gardening, tree pruning, etc.
  • Maintain and monitor required Life Safety devices
  • Assure all residential vehicles are maintained properly and that all necessary inspections are completed
  • Construct simple therapy/residential materials and/or equipment as designed by the treatment team to paint, varnish and/or cover such materials and/or equipment
  • Transport materials and/or equipment between residences
  • Assist the Activities Coordinator at each applicable residence in the opening and closing of the pools
  • Provide needed repairs to equipment and appliances as warranted at the residences
  • Tend to emergencies that may arise at any of the residences
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid NYS Driver's License
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English including interpreting documents such as safety rules and policy and procedure manuals

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 months to 1 year related experience
  • General knowledge of building systems (plumbing, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, etc.), blueprints and building code
