Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Experienced Veterinary Technician, or Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support veterinarians and other staff in providing high-quality care to animals. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal welfare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Technician/Assistant Duties:

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by restraining animals and ensuring their comfort.
  • Perform routine tasks such as nursing care for hospitalized animals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to aseptic techniques.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Collect samples for laboratory testing and assist with laboratory procedures.
  • Monitor animal behavior and report any changes or concerns to the veterinary staff.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' care.
  • Lift up to 50lbs

Technician/Assistant Experience

  • Previous experience in pet care or animal handling.
  • Knowledge of animal anatomy and basic veterinary practices is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with dog handling techniques and animal restraint methods is essential.
  • A background in laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine is advantageous.

Ark Animal Hospital is a high paced small animal practice that provides high quality medicine and care to a broad spectrum of clients and their pets. Our practice currently sees predominantly wellness cases in feline and canine medicine, with opportunities for surgery.

We have a great support team that makes coming to work a pleasure. We're trying to create a sustainable practice model for our staff where they can practice the highest quality medicine, while maintaining boundaries and still enjoying their families, friends, and time outside of work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour
