HR Generalist

The HR Generalist supports core HR functions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance. This role also requires strong union experience, serving as a key liaison for labor relations, grievance handling, and contract interpretation. This role is 5 days a week on-site in the Easton, PA area.

Client Details

Our client is a large-scale manufacturer in the consumer goods space, with a high-volume, mid-sized plant in the Easton, PA area. They are looking for an HR Generalist to join their team and support day-to-day human resources operations for all employees. This role is FULL-TIME ON-SITE in the Easton area.

This role offers the opportunity to make an impact across multiple areas of the business and will have a hand in all things HR. Main areas of focus include employee relations, talent acquisition, training and development, and labor relations. The role partners closely with operations leadership to drive employee engagement, retention, and development initiatives, while also coordinating training programs and maintaining accurate records.

Candidates MUST have union experience. The HR Generalist serves as a key point of contact for union representatives and plant leadership, supporting contract interpretation, grievance handling, and resolution of workplace issues in accordance with collective bargaining agreements. The individual will participate in labor-management meetings, ensure consistent and fair application of policies, and help maintain a collaborative and respectful relationship between management and the union. A solid understanding of labor law, union protocols, and conflict resolution strategies is essential to succeed in this role.

Description

• Manage day-to-day HR operations, including employee relations and compliance.
• Serve as the primary HR contact for union representatives and plant leadership.
• Support and manage the grievance process, including documentation and resolution.
• Participate in labor-management meetings and maintain constructive relationships with union leadership.
• Coordinate recruitment efforts to attract and retain top talent.
• Implement and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Support onboarding processes to ensure a positive employee experience.
• Oversee employee benefits administration and address related inquiries.
• Assist with performance management and employee development initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Collaborate with management to address workforce planning needs.

Profile

A successful HR Generalist should have:

• Proven experience in a manufacturing HR environment, preferably high-volume or fast-paced.
• Strong background in labor relations, including direct experience working in a unionized setting.
• Skilled in handling grievances, interpreting collective bargaining agreements, and facilitating labor-management communications.
• Comfortable working on-site and engaging regularly with frontline employees and plant leadership.
• Knowledgeable in employment law, HR compliance, and workplace investigations.
• Effective communicator with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
• Proficient in recruiting, onboarding, and supporting employee development initiatives.
• Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
