POSITION PURPOSE

High Plains Farm Credit is currently recruiting a Vice President – Lending to service customers in our Dodge City office. This position services loans, markets financial services, and develops strong working relationships with our customers while growing business in the territory. The Vice President – Lending provides outstanding customer service and financial expertise with an emphasis in large, complex credits and feedlot financing to new customers and services an existing loan portfolio.

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Interviews prospective and current borrowers; evaluates and approves loan applications within authorized limits.
  • Handles assigned large and complex loans and prepares prior approval and official loans; ensures all assigned loans are made in accordance with Association and District credit policies.
  • Understand the specifics of the feedlot industry, including feed costs, animal health, and market trends.
  • Capable of implementing a multifaceted approach, including strong financial performance, detailed due diligence, and if required, the use of structured finance for large, complex credit activity.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships within the feedlot industry.
  • Conducts credit analysis and conveys decisions on loan approval to management.
  • Performs loan servicing tasks and completes various field servicing activities, including field inspections and preparation of field reports.
  • Attends functions within the community and presents a positive image for the Association.

QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Agriculture, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years of lending experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong business development skills.
  • Strong analysis, problem solving communication and computer skills.
  • Farm background with related practical experience preferred.
