An international supplier of steel and metal products is currently searching for a motivated Part Time Accounting Clerk to join their office in near the Crown Point, Indiana area. The ideal candidate has previous accounting / bookkeeping experience in an industrial environment and a positive, team-oriented mindset. This is a Part-time, Temp position.

Part Time Accounting Clerk Responsibilities Include:

  • Accounts payable and receivable functions
  • Bookkeeping functions such as maintaining financial records, payroll entry, general ledger, etc.
  • Communicate with customers regarding payments and past due invoices
  • Assist with improving accounting department functions / systems
  • Process employee expense reports and reconcile company credit card statements
  • Creation of accounting reports for upper management
  • General office administration as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Part Time Accounting Clerk Requirements Include:

  • Associate's degree in accounting or similar field preferred, OR equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years' accounting experience (including internships, co-ops, etc.), preferably in an industrial environment
  • Experience with accounting functions such as accounts payable and receivable, bookkeeping, account and bank reconciliation, etc.
  • Good computer skill and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word
  • Strong communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
