Organizational Overview:

The League of Women Voters of Montgomery County (LWVMC) is a local chapter of the nationwide League of Women Voters. We are a501(c)(3) non-profit, non-partisan, mission-driven, volunteer-led organization dedicated to empowering voters and defending democracy. We are a membership organization funded by dues and donations. We register voters, publish voters' guides and host forums to acquaint voters with candidates' stances on important issues; study issues to inform our position on them; and perform other civic education work. We also interact with elected officials and advocate for policies and programs that promote good governance, open democracy, diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are located at 27 Wood Lane in Rockville, Maryland. (See also )

Position Overview:

The Office Manager supports the administrative and executive functions of LWVMC. This part-time position (30 hours per week) reports directly to the LWVMC President and assists other LWVMC leaders and members with administrative needs. The Office Manager is responsible for office management, setting up events and meetings, data entry and reporting, and supporting communications to stakeholders, both internal and external.

The ideal candidate is highly motivated, detail-orientated, and organized with sound judgment and a passion for mission-driven work. S/he should be able to work independently as the lone staffer and also have strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to interact expeditiously and respectfully with others. S/he will be expected to uphold LWVMC's mission and values and adhere to its organizational culture. Having League of Women Voters experience is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
