Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing ingredients and assembling meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines
  • Support food preparation activities including chopping, slicing, cooking, and plating dishes
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Handle food safely by following proper storage, sanitation, and handling procedures
  • Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients needed for daily service
  • Contribute to catering events by preparing and serving food in accordance with client specifications
  • Ensure all food is prepared efficiently to meet service timelines while maintaining quality standards
  • Assist with serving food to residents or customers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Follow all food industry safety protocols, including proper knife skills and hygiene practices
  • Collaborate with dietary aides and kitchen staff to ensure accurate meal delivery
  • Support inventory management by monitoring supplies and notifying supervisors of shortages

Experience

Candidates should possess prior experience in dietary departments or food service environments, ideally within healthcare, hospitality, or restaurant settings. Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling is highly valued. Familiarity with culinary tools such as knives and kitchen equipment is essential. Previous roles involving catering or serving are advantageous. A strong understanding of food safety standards and kitchen operations will enable success in this position. Candidates with a background in the food industry or culinary experience are encouraged to apply.
