Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States Pathway Talent Partners Full time

Position Summary

The Senior Manufacturing Construction Project Manager is responsible for leading large-scale, complex capital construction projects within active manufacturing environments. This role provides senior-level oversight from pre-construction through commissioning and closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget—while minimizing disruption to ongoing production.

This position requires a seasoned leader with deep experience in industrial or manufacturing construction, strong financial and risk management capabilities, and the ability to partner effectively with executive leadership, engineering, operations, and EH&S teams.

Key Responsibilities
Capital Project Planning & Execution
  • Manage end-to-end construction projects supporting manufacturing operations, including plant expansions, new production lines, equipment foundations, utilities, and facility upgrades.

  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets aligned with production requirements.

  • Coordinate construction activities within live manufacturing environments to minimize downtime and operational risk.

  • Review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to ensure constructability and alignment with manufacturing needs.

Contractor & Vendor Management
  • Select, manage, and oversee general contractors, subcontractors, equipment vendors, and engineering firms.

  • Lead contractor safety orientations and enforce site safety expectations.

  • Track contractor performance, schedules, and deliverables.

Budget, Cost & Change Management
  • Develop and manage capital project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.

  • Review and approve invoices, change orders, and scope modifications.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety, quality, or production timelines.

Safety, Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and local building codes.

  • Enforce strict safety practices in manufacturing and industrial environments.

  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure quality and compliance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, EH&S, and quality teams.

  • Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Support commissioning, equipment installation, validation, and handoff to operations.

Project Closeout & Documentation
  • Lead project closeout activities including punch lists, as-built drawings, warranties, and turnover documentation.

  • Ensure projects are properly commissioned and transitioned to operations and maintenance teams.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 8+ years of experience managing capital construction projects in manufacturing or industrial environments.

  • Proven experience leading large, complex projects in active production facilities.

  • Strong understanding of industrial utilities, equipment installation, and production-critical infrastructure.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-million-dollar budgets and complex schedules.

  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera, or similar).

  • OSHA 30 certification.

  • PMP, CCM, or similar professional certification.

  • Experience supporting equipment commissioning, validation, and operational handoff.
