We are seeking a motivated, coachable, and growth-oriented professional to join our Farmers Insurance Agency in Van Nuys as an Insurance Agent Trainee. This role is designed for individuals who are looking for more than just a sales position—it offers a clear path to becoming a full-time licensed insurance agent with long-term earning potential.

You will receive hands-on training, mentorship, and real-world experience in insurance sales, client service, and agency operations. As you develop and hit performance milestones, you will have the opportunity to transition into an agent role with commission-based compensation and performance bonuses of up to 300% of earned commissions after quarterly targets are met.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients through consultative, needs-based conversations
  • Identify client exposures and recommend tailored insurance solutions across multiple product lines
  • Generate new business through outbound prospecting, referrals, and community-based relationship building
  • Manage follow-ups, policy documentation, and sales-related administrative tasks
  • Provide a high level of customer service to ensure client retention and satisfaction
  • Collaborate with internal team members to support agency growth initiatives
  • Learn and adhere to all carrier and regulatory compliance standards
  • Continuously develop product knowledge, sales skills, and industry understanding through training and mentorship

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in insurance, sales, customer service, or a related field is preferred but not required
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport
  • Coachable mindset with a strong work ethic and goal-driven attitude
  • Comfort with outbound prospecting and relationship-based sales
  • Ability to manage time effectively and follow through on commitments
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain a 
    Property & Casualty Insurance License
