Job Summary: Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using hand tools and testing instruments to supply electrical power for lighting, equipment and machine operations Impact of the Role:

General Profile
  • Requires basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process
  • Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines
  • Works with close supervision
  • Performs manual tasks according to established procedures

Essential Functions:

  • Inspects, repairs, installs, and maintains electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Ensures all work performed meets required safety codes and is properly inspected.
  • Uses a variety of tools and equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
  • Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
  • Replaces conduit, wiring and circuit breakers as needed.
  • Required Qualifications:- - Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
    Preferred Qualifications:- - Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
    • Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
    • Additional certifications: Typically requires an Electrician's license granted by state
    • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Electrical Wiring Installation. Install Electrical Services. Reading Blueprints/Diagrams. Safety Inspections. Troubleshooting Electrical Codes
      Physical Requirements:- - Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
    • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
    • May need to stand for long periods of time.
    • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
    • May be requested to work a different shift.
    • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required
    • This position is Safety-Sensitive.
