CarterPierce is supporting a leading middle-market private equity firm in a search for a
Finance Associate
to join its portfolio analytics and fund reporting team. This individual will play a critical role in monitoring portfolio performance, managing valuation and reporting processes, and supporting investor and fund-level deliverables. The role offers broad exposure across investment, finance, and investor relations functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead quarterly portfolio reporting, consolidating revenue, EBITDA, debt metrics, ownership data, and key performance indicators.
  • Prepare fund-level analyses including capital deployment summaries, valuation bridges, and performance vs. underwriting reports.
  • Support quarterly and annual LP reporting, DDQs, and institutional questionnaires.
  • Track portfolio and fund-level cash flows; maintain lender summaries and monitor capital structure activity.
  • Serve as a power user for portfolio monitoring and ownership systems (e.g., Cobalt, Carta).
  • Develop and refine dashboards (Power BI, Tableau) and standardized reporting templates to enhance visibility and efficiency.
  • Partner with Investor Relations and senior investment professionals to ensure accurate and timely data delivery.

Ideal Candidate

  • 1–2 years of experience in private equity, private credit, asset management, or related financial/investment settings.
  • Hands-on experience with portfolio analytics, valuation processes, and LP reporting preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong financial modeling proficiency; familiarity with dashboard tools (Power BI, Tableau) a plus.
  • Understanding of valuation methodologies, fund structures, and key financial metrics.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage deliverables across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with senior investment and finance professionals.
