Job Title: Product Specialist, Energy and Environment Solutions
HORIBA Instruments is dedicated to providing innovative analytical solutions that contribute to environmental protection and energy efficiency. Our Energy and Environment (E&E) solutions address critical needs in automotive testing, environmental monitoring, alternative energy management (battery and hydrogen), and sustainable development.
The Product Specialist will play a key role in the growth and success of our E&E solutions by serving as a primary technical resource for the sales team and customers. This individual will possess a deep understanding of our E&E products and their applications, providing critical support in pre-sales, post-sales, and technical training. The Product Specialist will collaborate closely with product managers, engineering groups, and marketing teams to ensure our products meet market demands and exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Expertise: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of HORIBA Instruments' E&E products, including their features, benefits, and competitive positioning in the market.
- Customer Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for technical inquiries from customers, providing expert guidance on product selection, usage, and troubleshooting.
- Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to deliver compelling product presentations, demonstrations, and technical proposals that align with customer needs.
- Training: Conduct technical training sessions for internal teams, distributors, and customers to ensure a deep understanding of product functionality and applications.
- Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to provide insights that inform product development and marketing strategies.
- Documentation: Assist in the creation and maintenance of product documentation, including sales support material, marketing collateral, and training materials.
- Feedback Loop: Gather and communicate customer feedback and product performance insights to the R&D and Product Management teams to drive continuous product improvement.
- Product Launch: Support the Technical Marketing Manager in planning and executing new product launches, including developing marketing collateral and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
- Trade Shows & Events: Represent HORIBA Instruments at industry trade shows, conferences, and events, highlighting our products and building relationships with key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master's degree in engineering or business administration, and/or a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the testing industry or a related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in a technical sales role, product management, or product specialist role, preferably within the instrumentation or technology sectors.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and software tools related to product use. Strong understanding of analytical instruments, laboratory equipment, or similar technologies is preferred.
Experience with the use of AI tools for generating documentation is a plus
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and offer creative solutions to customer challenges.
- Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time for customer visits, training, and events.
