Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Director to lead and oversee complex healthcare initiatives within a multidisciplinary medical environment. This pivotal role involves strategic planning, operational management, and clinical oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care across diverse settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, emergency departments, and trauma centers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical administration, clinical operations, and a comprehensive understanding of various specialties such as dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and emergency medicine. Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate program strategies aligned with organizational goals to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across outpatient clinics, inpatient units, emergency departments, and specialized areas such as PICU, Geriatrics, and Medical-Surgical units.
- Oversee clinical workflows including intake procedures, vital signs collection, medication administration, and patient service processes to ensure compliance with healthcare standards.
- Manage administrative functions related to medical records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems; ensure accurate documentation including ICD coding and medical terminology.
- Coordinate with hospital leadership to optimize inpatient and outpatient services within Level I and Level II trauma center environments.
- Supervise staff training on physiology knowledge, anatomy fundamentals, emergency protocols—including Basic Life Support (BLS)—and X-ray procedures.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols involving Level I Trauma Center standards and emergency medicine practices.
- Oversee quality assurance initiatives focusing on patient care metrics, hospital experience feedback, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate communication between clinical teams and administrative staff to streamline processes such as intake assessments, vital signs monitoring, and documentation accuracy.
- Lead efforts in staff development by providing mentorship on hospital medicine best practices, medical terminology clarity, and ICD coding accuracy.
- Collaborate with radiology departments for X-ray interpretation support and with surgical teams for OR experience management.
- Support the integration of new technologies or procedures that improve patient care delivery in outpatient or inpatient settings.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in healthcare program management within hospital or clinic environments; prior leadership roles preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of dermatology, urgent care operations, hospital medicine practices, emergency medicine protocols, and trauma center standards.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy fundamentals, ICD coding procedures, medication administration protocols, and vital signs monitoring.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams across inpatient units such as PICU or Geriatrics as well as outpatient clinics.
- Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers; familiarity with emergency response procedures is essential.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems; ability to oversee documentation accuracy including intake assessments and medical records management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate among clinical staff, administrative personnel, patients, and external agencies effectively.
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), or other relevant emergency certifications are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of X-ray procedures and radiology workflows; experience with medical-surgical units is advantageous.
- Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards for patient safety and quality care.
