The castles include breathtaking LED-lit sculptures, frozen thrones, ice-carved tunnels, slides, and fountains.

About the Opportunity

Ice Castles is seeking a reliable, organized, and guest-focused Ice Bar Supervisor to lead our seasonal bar team inside our outdoor Ice Bar. This is a unique leadership role in a one-of-a-kind winter attraction. The Supervisor will oversee day-to-day bar operations, ensure compliance with Minnesota alcohol regulations, manage staff, and help deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Please note: This is an outdoor position in winter weather and is fully weather-dependent.

Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site leadership for bartenders and barbacks during all operating hours
  • Oversee daily bar setup and closing procedures
  • Accept and verify beverage orders, receive deliveries, and ensure proper product rotation
  • Conduct weekly inventory counts and maintain accurate stock records
  • Ensure all alcohol is secured in designated lock-up areas at the end of each night
  • Maintain compliance with Minnesota alcohol service laws, ID checks, and Ice Castles policies
  • Train, schedule, and supervise bar staff to ensure adequate coverage and exceptional service
  • Monitor bar cleanliness, equipment, supply levels, and guest flow
  • Assist with preparing and serving beverages during busy periods
  • Communicate operational updates, issues, or needs to management
  • Support a positive, team-focused environment in a high-volume setting
  • Work safely on snow/ice surfaces and enforce all safety procedures
Qualifications
  • Must be 21 or older
  • Previous bartending experience required; supervisory or shift-lead experience strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and people-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and make quick, sound decisions
  • Comfortable working outdoors in cold winter conditions
  • Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Evening, weekend, and some holiday availability required
  • Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices
  • Detail-oriented and reliable with strong organizational skills
Minnesota Requirements
  • Proof of completion of a Responsible Alcohol Server/Seller Training Course is preferred
  • Supervisors must follow all Minnesota ID-checking, intoxication-prevention, and alcohol service laws
  • Additional city/county requirements may apply based on our licensed service area (training provided)
Season Schedule
  • Tentative Start Date: December 18
  • Tentative End Date: Late February (weather dependent)
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts required
  • Hours and shift lengths may fluctuate due to weather conditions
