Position Summary:
  The Senior Engineer, counter UAS and Active Protection Systems will lead the engineering team in the design, development, and delivery of advanced defense systems and technologies. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in defense engineering, project management, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management:

  2. Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance, support, and professional development.

  3. Oversee the engineering department's operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  4. Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the engineering team.

  5. Project Oversight:

  6. Manage and coordinate multiple engineering projects, from concept through to production.

  7. Ensure all engineering projects comply with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
  8. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.

  9. Technical Expertise:

  10. Provide technical leadership in the design and development of defense systems, including hardware and software components with a focus on counter drone technologies as well as active protection systems.

  11. Ensure the integration of new technologies and methodologies into existing systems.
  12. Conduct technical reviews and provide recommendations for design improvements.

  13. Stakeholder Engagement:

  14. Collaborate with other departments, including R&D, business development, program management, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure cohesive project execution.

  15. Liaise with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure project requirements are met.
  16. Present technical information and project updates to senior management and external stakeholders.

  17. Compliance and Standards:

  18. Ensure all engineering activities adhere to industry standards, government regulations, and company policies.

  19. Stay updated with the latest advancements in defense technology and engineering practices.
  20. Implement and maintain best practices in engineering processes and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related field). A Master's degree or PhD is preferred.

  • Experience:

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in defense engineering or a related field.

  • Proven track record of leading engineering teams and managing complex defense projects.

  • Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge in defense systems and technologies.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools.

  • Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or specific defense-related certifications are a plus.

Work Environment:

  • This position may require security clearance due to the nature of the work.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required to meet with clients, suppliers, or attend industry events.
