Summary:

The Cook III is responsible for preparing high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner. The Cook III must be prepared to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment while maintaining the organizational ability to identify and act on job duties quickly and effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing food items according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Using designated ingredients to create appealing and flavorful dishes.
  • Using portion and presentation standards to create appealing and flavorful dishes.
  • Preparing unique dishes to fulfill customer requests.
  • Ensuring food is cooked sufficiently, checking the temperature of food and appliances, and following all safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Washing and disinfecting the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
  • Consulting with supervisory staff to plan menus.
  • Purchasing food or other supplies as needed.
  • Maintaining temperature logs on all foods served, and other applicable documentation.
  • Assist in the break down/cleaning of station at the end of each meal prepared and at end of shift.
  • Avoid waste through the proper preparation and storage of food.
  • Comply with the company's drug-free and tobacco/nicotine-free policy.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Must have at least two years of cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Ability to stand for most of the shift.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. infrequently.
  • Must be able to legally work in the USA.

Education and Certification(s)/License(s):

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
