JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepares and cooks food items for service to various customer groups.  Cooking may involve quantity, batch, and/or short order methods, as well as catering items according to need. Follows HACCP and ISDH sanitation guidelines during all phases of preparation and service. Uses a variety of food preparation and serving equipment.

Serves cafeteria customers, using portion control and correct service procedures.

Performs cleaning duties according to job task schedule, including cleaning of food production equipment and assisting in dish room. Maintains organized work area and stocks food and supplies necessary to complete tasks.

Cleans and sanitizes equipment and fixtures.Uses cleaning chemicals according to directions.

Accurately portions food items for customers during meal assembly. Accurately assembles, loads and unloads patient trays onto delivery carts.

Adheres to HACCP and ISDH sanitation standards.

Participates and promotes CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) activities.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: 

Must be able to read and write. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous cooking experience preferred. ServSafe Certification preferred. "On the job" training provided. 

Johnson Memorial Health is a nationally-recognized network of physicians, services and healthcare resources based in Johnson County, Indiana. The centerpiece is Johnson Memorial Hospital, located in Franklin Indiana, just 20 minutes south of Indianapolis.
