The School of Public Health at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans ( LSUHSC -N.O.) is seeking applicants for an Assistant or Associate Professor. This position may be tenure or research track depending on the selected candidate. This position will be expected to engage in three main activities: teaching, research/scholarship- specific to health policy, and service. In regard to policy, the ideal candidate would have expertise in community health and/or behavioral health policy development, policy analyses (including cost-benefit), and policy evaluation. This is a faculty position in our Community Health Science & Policy program. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in student mentoring and advising, as well as teaching community health, behavioral health, and/or policy courses. They will need to collaborate with researchers, and establish independent, externally funded practice and/or research projects. A doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH) in a relevant health science or policy field (e.g., JD with MPH ) is required. Experience or expertise in applied health policy theory, health promotion or community health policy, health disparities, behavioral policy, and/or use of a policy analysis frameworks/methods are of particular interest. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with potential for, or demonstrated record in, development of community health policy research; health policy teaching; a history of community health applied practice and/or policy experience; demonstrated ability to publish in the peer reviewed literature; and a demonstrated ability to write, and acquire, outside grants and contracts.
