Who We Are

Established in 2005, Brook Landscape is a landscape design-build agency specializing in urban outdoor environments, with clients across the New York region and a growing presence beyond. In our design-forward setting, projects move from idea to built space quickly, with designers, builders, and horticulture teams working side by side from start to finish.

Our mission is to create intentional and timeless outdoor spaces that reflect our clients' values and connect people with the places they live and spend time in. In this role, you'll help bring that mission to life through thoughtful, closely connected work, with the satisfaction of knowing the spaces you contribute to become places people spend time in, return to, and enjoy.

What You'll Do

We specialize in urban outdoor environments, and are looking for an experienced Senior Architect to lead a range of high-end residential, commercial, and institutional projects. The right candidate has a keen interest in developing small spaces, with an eye on style, nuanced details, and timelessness.

  • Lead the design and delivery of assigned projects, managing client relationships and design execution from concept through construction
  • Personally develop and review construction details and architectural drawings, including plans, sections, details, and shop drawings, applying in-depth expertise in surveying, planning, and exterior construction assemblies to support successful installations
  • Work closely with construction, operations, and horticulture teams to support coordinated execution across all phases of work
  • Review and refine internal design documents, redlines, and shop drawings for quality, accuracy, and completeness
  • Actively contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly design and production scheduling
  • Support estimating, material take-offs, and procurement in coordination with operations and design leadership
  • Lead municipal filings and building submittals, coordinating with consultants including MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing), structural, and other required professionals
  • Partner with leadership on project problem-solving, client communication, and issue resolution
  • Track and report design hours by project and support special projects as needed

What You'll Have

  • 5 years of experience in architecture, landscape architecture, or similar.
  • Deep expertise in construction methodologies and construction administration, with strong command of exterior landscape systems, assemblies, and installation practices that support accurate, buildable design and smooth execution from design through install.
  • Experience producing construction documents, details, and drawings that support installation.
  • Strong experience in AutoCAD, with familiarity in Fusion 360, InDesign, and Photoshop (CNC experience a plus).
  • Advanced hand-drawing skills, including perspective and axonometric drawings, used to communicate design intent clearly to clients, fabricators, and field teams.
  • Comfort coordinating with consultants and managing municipal filings and approvals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing work.
  • Solid technical and mathematical skills for problem-solving.
  • Brings steady energy, professionalism, and ownership to complex projects, maintaining momentum, focus, and collaboration across fast-moving design and construction phases.
  • Ability to commute daily to our Brooklyn studio.

What You'll Have

  • 2 or more years of experience in landscape or horticultural installation, including leading or overseeing planting work on active job sites
  • Strong working knowledge of planting practices, soil preparation, and plant handling, with the ability to interpret planting plans and layouts
  • Comfort working outdoors in all weather and performing physically demanding work, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Experience maintaining clear field documentation, including site notes, plant lists, and basic layout sketches
  • Ability to organize materials, tools, and vehicles to support daily crew operations
  • Experience coordinating transportation of crews, tools, and materials between job sites
  • Comfort using digital tools for field communication and documentation (such as Trello or similar systems)
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record
  • Clear, professional communication style and confidence directing junior team members on site
  • Willingness to take responsibility for daily organization, quality, and team readiness
