Responsibilities

  • Unload trucks swiftly and safely using heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately identify, sort, and stage incoming materials.
  • Load and unload shipments efficiently, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage or loss.
  • Assist with order picking activities, including picker tasks, to support timely shipping and receiving operations.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as cranes and forklifts with mechanical knowledge to move large or heavy items safely within the warehouse.
  • Conduct materials handling tasks including heavy lifting, stacking pallets, and organizing inventory in designated areas.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment by following OSHA guidelines and safety standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to optimize unloading processes and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Support shipping & receiving functions by verifying inbound/outbound loads and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Assist in the operation of various warehouse equipment like clamp trucks and load & unload machinery to facilitate smooth logistics flow.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in warehouse distribution or similar environments with a focus on order picking, shipping & receiving, or materials handling.
  • Prior experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, or pallet jacks is highly desirable; certification is a plus.
  • Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and heavy equipment operation.
  • Strong physical ability for heavy lifting, repetitive movements, and standing for extended periods during shifts.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and best practices for warehouse safety procedures.
  • Construction or industrial experience is advantageous due to the mechanical aspects of the role.
  • Ability to work effectively on weekends with a proactive attitude toward teamwork and safety compliance.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in order picking and load/unload activities.
