JOB TITLE: Corporate Director of Operations

REPORTS TO: President, Chief Executive Officer and V.P- Chief Operating Officer

SUPERVISED BY: Chief Executive Officer and or V.P.- Chief Operating Officer

SUPERVISES: All Company Residences (and organizations/corporation, synonymously so named), supervising all Professional and Non-Professional employees.

JOB SUMMARY: Provides operational leadership and direction for all employees of the Residence, organizations, including all activities and functions, to wit, Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Directing, Controlling, Innovating and Representing on behalf of the organization and/or its subsidiaries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following is a list of the major duties and responsibilities of the Director of Operations under supervision by the Chief Executive Officer and/or the V.P. Chief Operating Officer.

  • Ensures that the corporation (organization) and its subsidiaries adhere to the highest ethical standards of corporate governance and operation.
  • Ensures full compliance with all local, state and federals laws, rules, and regulations to include administrative requirements relating to the operation of Senior Housing communities.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the designated subsidiaries optimizing all human and fiscal resources.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements all approved policy directives throughout the corporation and its subsidiaries being mindful of the unique characteristics of the constituencies and residents being served.
  • Demonstrates and communicates an understanding and appreciation for the heritage, values and ethics of the corporation, its subsidiaries to include complete support of the mission statement.
  • Leads planning for the continued growth, efficient operation, and preservation of all tangible and intangible assets of the investor groups, the corporation, and its subsidiaries.
  • Organizes all assets of the corporation to ensure optimal performance of all human and capital resources under the direct and indirect control of the Director of Operations.
  • Ensures qualified individuals are engaged as consultants or employed by the corporation, and its subsidiaries to achieve the stated objectives.
  • Dedicates his/her energies to ensure that a confident, highly trained, appropriately educated management infrastructure is continually maintained and achieving the stated objectives of the corporation, or other legal entities; to wit; the Chairman, President and CEO and/or to a Board of Directors as so organized and named.
  • Promote a "walk the talk" attitude, taking control and doing what is right Continually maintaining the prospective vision of the organization, maintaining and no nonsense yet compassionate leadership philosophy while pursuing any course of action to a successful conclusion.
  • Authors and implements approved policies, procedures, and audit trails to secure total control of the organization and its subsidiaries dedicated to meeting the core business objectives while protecting all company assets.
  • Commits himself/herself to meeting the fullest extent applicable to all federal, state, or local laws and/or reporting requirements.
  • Direct the day-to-day activities of the organization, and subsidiaries through an effective management infrastructure of highly trained specialized professionals exercising an appropriate span of control while eliminating any micro-management tendencies.
  • Works through educational, training and utilization of all available human and capital resources necessary to continually maintain an innovative corporation, whose innovative operating, marketing, and management operations are second to none, copied and emulated by envious competitors.
  • Represents the titular and human element of the corporation and subsidiaries in all matters requiring a highly visible decision-making entity. Visibility shall include participation in civic, philanthropic or other community organizations promulgating the betterment of the communities in which the corporation provides service or benefit.
  • Maintains an appropriate liaison with state, local, national government officials and employees. Maintains rapport and a working environment with representatives of all appropriate health care providers, financial communities, and third-party payers.

Other Duties:

  • Provides leadership and guidance to the Senior Leadership Team consisting of all Regional Directors, Executive Directors and corporate personnel responsible for global job responsibilities within the corporation and its subsidiaries.
  • May serve at the pleasure of the CEO, Chairperson of the Board of Directors as an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors without franchise.

PROFESSIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at minimum, a Bachelor prepared in either Business Administration, Health Care Administration or hold a license as a Nursing Home Administrator. A Master's degree prepared or to have post graduate education with an appropriate discipline or concentration in Health Care would be a desirable advantage.
  • Graduate management coupled with specialized knowledge or gerontology experience, or specialized education in Gerontology is a very definite plus.
  • Experience in senior housing, independent, and assisted living is a necessity. An acute or long-term background may be acceptable if exposed to independent, memory care or assisted living options.
  • Should have at least five (5) years of experience at the senior management level. Senior management level being defined as that of a Regional Director, Executive Director, President, Vice-President or the Chief Operating Officer or an Executive Director or Assistant Executive Director of an organization sufficient in size to reflect responsibilities of fiscal and human resources on a day-to-day basis.
  • In training for or possessing a Nursing Home Administrator's license (NHA) would be a plus.
  • Must understand and have full comprehension of multi-budgeting processes and be able to interpret financial statements including corporate financial rations.
  • Must possess an important level of flexibility and tolerance to adjust with changes in work loads, assignments, hours, and days, (i.e., weekends, evenings, and holidays) if necessary.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • High stress, multitask, may include extended periods of travel, diverse employee and resident populations, multilevel management, and gerontology-oriented production environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to lift, carry, stand, bend, squat, crawl, reach and kneel using good body mechanics for sustained periods of time. Must also be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability in order to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Pay: $65, $75,000.00 per year
