Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Sales Consultant to develop and manage relationships with custom home builders while also handling a limited number of qualified retail walk-in clients. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning their results and working in a performance-driven environment. We specialize in high-end flooring solutions, including tile, stone, hardwood, carpet and custom installations for residential and builder clients.
This role is primarily focused on custom homes and luxury residential projects. Retail walk-ins are selective and design-driven, not high-volume or transactional.
What You'll Be Selling
High-end flooring solutions, including:
- Tile and stone (large-format, specialty, custom layouts)
- Engineered Hard wood & Sports Floors
- Custom Carpets
- Design-forward installations for custom homes and high-quality residential clients
Projects typically involve whole-home scopes, detailed specifications, and repeat builder relationships.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with custom home builders and their design teams
- Manage sales opportunities from early planning through contract execution
- Assist qualified retail walk-in clients when appropriate
- Prepare detailed quotes using established pricing and margin standards
- Close sales and transition projects cleanly to operations
Role Scope
This is a sales-focused role. Project management, scheduling, and field execution are handled by a separate team.
Performance Expectations
- Consistent outreach to custom home builders
- Active quoting on high-value residential projects
- Professional handling of select retail opportunities
- Closed sales that meet or exceed company margin requirements
Performance is reviewed weekly during the initial 90-day evaluation period.
Compensation
- Commission: 8–10% of collected revenue
- Paid after contract is complete and customer final payment is received
- After the initial 90-day evaluation period, compensation structure may be adjusted based on performance
Ideal Candidate
- Experience selling construction-related, home improvement, or flooring products is a strong plus.
- Comfortable with longer sales cycles and complex scopes
- Able to handle select retail clients without discounting or scope drift
- Organized, self-directed, and accountable
