Vehicle Immobilization Operator/Boot Person

Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and vigilant Overnight Parking Enforcement Worker to patrol parking lots and enforce parking regulations during the night shift. This role primarily involves monitoring parking areas for illegally parked trucks, issuing warnings or citations, and, when necessary, applying wheel boots to vehicles in violation of parking policies. The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overnight Patrols: Patrol assigned parking lots and areas throughout the night to monitor and enforce parking regulations.
- Parking Violations: Identify and document illegally parked trucks and other vehicles that are in violation of parking rules.
- Booting Violations: Apply wheel boots to vehicles that are illegally parked or have accumulated multiple citations. Ensure proper documentation of all booting actions.
- Issuing Citations: Issue parking tickets to vehicles in violation of local parking laws and regulations. Record all relevant details (e.g., vehicle make, model, license plate number) accurately.
- Customer Service: Respond to questions from vehicle owners or individuals about parking rules, fines, or procedures in a professional and respectful manner.
- Conflict Resolution: Handle potentially confrontational situations calmly and professionally. De-escalate disputes related to parking violations when necessary.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all enforcement actions, including ticket issuance, boot placements, and vehicle impoundments. Submit reports at the end of each shift.
- Surveillance & Security: Monitor parking lot security cameras for suspicious activities and report incidents to local authorities or security personnel as needed.
- Vehicle Tow Requests: Coordinate with tow truck operators when necessary for the removal of vehicles that cannot be booted or are in violation of other regulations.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic regulations while operating a vehicle or walking through the parking lots during the night shift.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or training in law enforcement or public safety is a plus.
- Previous experience in parking enforcement, security, or a similar role preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work independently and stay self-motivated during overnight shifts.
- Strong attention to detail and good observational skills.
- Ability to operate a vehicle safely and maintain a clean driving record.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and confrontational behavior with professionalism.
- Basic knowledge of parking regulations, local ordinances, and law enforcement practices is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Physical stamina to patrol parking lots and boot vehicles in all weather conditions.
Working Conditions:
- Shift Hours: The position typically requires working overnight shifts, from [12] AM to [2] AM and [6]AM to [8]AM.
- Environment: Work is performed both outdoors (patrolling parking lots, booting vehicles) and in a vehicle.
- Physical Requirements: The job requires walking, standing, and occasional bending/lifting to apply wheel boots or issue citations. Must be able to operate a vehicle safely in all weather conditions.
Job Type: Part-time
Base Pay: $ $30.55 per hour
Expected hours: 21 per week
