Job Summary
- Support the delivery and execution of quality food service to residents and guests
- Maintain cleanliness of all dishware, flatware, glassware, pots, pans, and serving equipment; assist with meal prep and/or bussing tables as needed
- Operate the dish machine safely and effectively, including monitoring and documenting dish machine temperatures on the daily log to maintain compliance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, sinks, floors, carts, and trash/recycling areas
- Inspect dishware and kitchen items for chips, cracks, stains, or damage; remove from service and report concerns per procedure
- Distribute, store, and rotate clean kitchen items according to procedure to ensure sanitary storage and easy access
- Complete opening and closing checklists for the assigned shift
- Assist cooks as needed with washing, cleaning, and preparing produce and fruit
- Clean and sanitize work surfaces, kitchen equipment, and high-touch areas following sanitation standards
- Assist with meal delivery or tray service when required to meet resident needs
- Follow all dining service safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures, including PPE requirements when applicable
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous dishwasher, kitchen, or food service experience preferred (senior living or hospitality a plus)
- Desire to learn with a positive attitude and willingness to grow
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read and understand basic English for labels, instructions, and safety procedures
- Demonstrates good judgment, reliability, and strong attention to cleanliness and safety
- Commitment to maintaining a safe community and workplace

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift
- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, pushing/pulling carts, and repetitive hand/arm motions
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items such as racks, dishware, pots/pans, and supplies (typically up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally, with or without assistance)
- Ability to work in a kitchen environment that may be hot, wet/humid, and noisy
- Ability to safely work around water, cleaning chemicals, and slippery surfaces while following safety procedures
- Visual and auditory ability sufficient to operate equipment safely and respond to instructions and alarms (with or without accommodation)
