Job Summary:

The Machinist uses milling machines, grinders, and other machine tools to produce precision metal parts. Must be able to use both manual and CNC machinery.

Duties/Responsibilities:


• Read detailed drawings or files, such as blueprints, sketches, and those for computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM)


• Set up, operate, and disassemble manual, automatic, and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools


• Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and workpieces


• Monitor the feed and speed of machines


• Turn, mill, drill, shape, and grind machine parts to specifications


• Verify that completed products meet requirements


• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:


• Ability to use measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.


• Ability to read prints to ensure accuracy.


• Familiarity with Epicor or similar program


• Familiarity with CAD or CorelDraw


• Excellent communication skills.


• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


• Ability to prioritize tasks and function in a fast-paced environment.


• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


• Tool & Die making experience is a plus. 

Education and Experience:


• High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent.


• Machining apprenticeship, technical training or applicable work experience required.

Physical Requirements:


• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.


• Ability to stand for entire length of an 8+ hour shift.


• Bending, reaching, and climbing of steps ladders.


• Visual acuity and manual dexterity sufficient to see, distinguish and operate machines and tools necessary for job completion.


• Environmental working conditions.

Majority of time spent in a shop setting where temperature can be warmer or colder, (subject to climate fluctuations).
