Title: Senior Data Engineer

Location: Irving TX (onsite x 5 days)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for implementing end-to-end data solutions for ad-hoc requests — including requirement gathering, performing gap analysis of the existing data platform, and deploying solutions into the production environment. This role involves close coordination with DevOps and functional leads to ensure compliance with existing standards and scalability best practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of key data initiatives and platform capabilities to meet business and scalability needs.
  • Optimize existing data workflows and systems for performance and cost-efficiency, identifying opportunities for innovation.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 2–5 data engineers, providing technical guidance, best practices, and professional development support.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, analysts, and architects to define requirements, prioritize tasks, and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay current with emerging data engineering technologies, trends, and best practices; recommend tools and methodologies for adoption.
  • Contribute to data engineering standards, documentation, and processes to ensure consistency, maintainability, and scalability.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a quantitative discipline (e.g., Physics, Statistics).
  • 6+ years of experience
    in data engineering, with at least 2 years of data modeling experience.
  • Strong technical foundation in
    Python
    ,
    SQL
    , and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of data engineering fundamentals, including
    ETL processes
    ,
    data lakes
    ,
    data warehousing
    , and both
    batch
    and
    streaming
    technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with
    Airflow
    ,
    Spark/Databricks
    , and
    Tableau/Power BI
    .
  • Proven leadership ability to guide a team of engineers and foster collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
