Who We Are
Lancium builds gigawatt-scale campuses for AI data centers. We develop and orchestrate all power infrastructure at the campus, including the grid interconnect, behind the meter solar, and large-scale battery energy storage systems. We currently have 5+ Gigawatts of capacity in various stages of development, and our projects under construction today are some of the largest in the world. We are backed by leading strategic and financial investors, including Blackstone, Shell, and Arclight, and have spent 6 years developing the infrastructure platform and are now rapidly accelerating the commercialization of our solutions into the market. Artificial Intelligence and the massive amount of energy it demands, balancing of that demand with supply – ideally clean resources – is collectively the mega-trend of our lifetimes. Lancium is at the epicenter of this trend, uniquely positioned to catalyze and empower the massive growth and opportunity at hand. EPC Oversight: Direct and monitor tier-1 EPC/EPCM contractors delivering HV AIS substations and 3rd-party power integration systems. Manage performance guarantees, liquidated damages, change orders, and claims.
Controls for Volatile Loads: Ensure plant controllers, EMS, and SCADA systems meet requirements for fast ramp buffering, export/import modes, and price/dispatch signals. Collaborate with the Technical Development team during development, testing, and large-scale deployment.
Engineering Oversight: Supervise EPC and Owner's Engineering in protection & controls, metering, communications/teleprotection, grounding, and relay settings. Ensure compliance with utility/ISO/client interconnection standards and power-quality metrics.
Procurement Management: Orchestrate procurement of long-lead items including transformers, breakers, reactors, capacitors, HV cables, transmission equipment, and 3rd-party BESS/Nat-Gas hardware. Track expediting, FATs, and logistics.
Construction Management: Enforce EPC safety standards (LOTO, lift plans, energized work), QA/QC processes, RFI/submittal discipline, and field productivity. Resolve roadblocks and optimize work sequencing.
Testing & Commissioning: Oversee pre-energization checkouts, relay/SCADA testing, staged energization, islanding/black-start trials, and microgrid performance validation.
Stakeholder & Regulatory Management: Coordinate with utilities, ISOs, AHJs, and data center counterparts. Ensure full lifecycle compliance with permits and environmental commitments.
Reporting & Controls: Maintain executive dashboards, track earned progress against financial milestones, and manage documentation and decision logs.
