Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team in the tri-state NYC area. In this traveling role, you will provide vital clinical support across various skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care, ensuring smooth operations, and enhancing the well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient intake, including taking medical histories, measuring vital signs, and recording patient information
  • Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas, ensuring a clean and organized environment
  • Assist physicians and nurses with medical procedures, including administering medications, drawing blood, and preparing specimens for laboratory testing
  • Perform routine clinical tasks such as ECGs, wound care, and specimen collection in accordance with established protocols
  • Operate and maintain a REDS (Remote Dielectric Sensing System) machine for diagnostic purposes, including setting up, calibrating, and troubleshooting the equipment
  • Provide patient education and support, explaining procedures and treatment plans to residents and their families
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient care and facility operations
  • Travel to various facilities within the tri-state NYC area using personal or company-provided transportation
  • Stay current with medical best practices and relevant procedures through ongoing education and training

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or certification in Medical Assisting, required
  • Certification in one of the following: AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants), PCT (Patient Care Technician), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant), or CMA (Certified Medical Assistant)
  • Required:
    Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant, with a strong understanding of clinical procedures and patient care
  • Experience operating a REDS machine or similar diagnostic equipment is preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while traveling
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care
  • Flexibility to accommodate varying schedules and travel requirements
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and stand / walk / work on your feet up to 6-8 hours per day
