Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires strong knowledge of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Experience with EMR systems and familiarity with pediatric dentistry are highly valued. The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in promoting oral health and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit.

Duties

  • Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and polishing to maintain optimal oral health.
  • Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review.
  • Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays in accordance with infection control protocols.
  • Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
  • Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures.
  • Review medical records for accurate documentation and medical coding compliance.
  • Support pediatric dentistry cases by applying specialized techniques suited for children.
  • Collaborate with dentists and other team members to deliver comprehensive patient care while adhering to HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification.
  • Proven experience in general dentistry, dental office operations, or dental clinic environments.
  • Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with EMR systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with pediatric dentistry, medical imaging, vital signs measurement, and chairside assisting is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical coding standards related to dental records.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively.
