Utility Construction Supervisor

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Utility Construction Supervisor to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of construction processes, and the ability to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including contractors, subcontractors, and clients.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily construction activities and manage on-site personnel to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers and other supervisors to establish project timelines and schedules using tools such as Primavera P6.
- Review contracts and ensure all work is performed in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Utilize construction management software like ProCore and Bluebeam for project tracking, documentation, and communication.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, enforce safety regulations (OSHA compliance), and maintain quality control throughout the construction process.
- Prepare budgets, estimates, and schedules while ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide construction activities effectively.
- Manage subcontractors and ensure that all work meets industry standards for quality and safety.
- Utilize HeavyBid for accurate bidding processes related to project costs.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior staff members while fostering a positive team environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction management or a related field with a strong background in supervising construction sites.
- Familiarity with construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and HeavyBid is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, estimating, quality control processes, and project scheduling techniques.
- Excellent blueprint reading skills along with the ability to interpret schematics accurately.
- Previous experience in pipeline construction or similar heavy construction projects is advantageous.
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to utilize tools such as an ohmmeter for electrical components when necessary.
