Position Summary

Abound Rehabilitation Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Grant Writer to join our team on a contract basis. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, developing, and submitting high-quality grant proposals to secure funding for programs, operations, and community initiatives. This position requires exceptional writing, organizational, and analytical skills, as well as familiarity with MI LARA and state funding standards.

This is a contracted position, and compensation will be based on successfully awarded and delivered grants.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and identify potential local, state, federal, and private grant opportunities aligned with ARS programs and strategic goals.
• Develop persuasive, compliant, and data-supported proposals and budgets.
• Collaborate with leadership, clinical, and finance teams to gather supporting data, program outcomes, and documentation.
• Ensure all grant submissions meet MI LARA, MDHHS, and other regulatory guidelines.
• Track application progress, deadlines, and renewals.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of all grant activities, communications, and outcomes.
• Prepare reports and follow-up documentation for awarded grants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Public Administration, Social Work, or related field (Master's preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of professional grant writing experience, preferably in healthcare, human services, or nonprofit settings.
• Proven success in securing grant funding.
• Strong knowledge of MI LARA, MDHHS, and related compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.

Contract Details

• Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
• Compensation: Based on successfully awarded and delivered grants.
• Work Location: Hybrid (On-site in Royal Oak, MI / Remote Work Option)
• Schedule: Flexible; project-based assignments.
