Position Title: Medical Social Worker (MSW)

Location: 1001 Potrero Ave, San Francisco, CA 94110

Duration: 13 Weeks

Work Schedule:

  • Mon to Thu: 7am -5:30pm (10 hr. shift), 40 hrs/week at Renal Center - 1 opening
  • Mon to Fri: 8:30am - 5pm (8 hr. shift), 40 hrs/week at Inpatient Psychiatry - 2 openings
  • Medical Social Worker - FLOAT - Emergency Dept and Inpatient Med Surg Areas - 1 opening

Duties

  • Supervise and mentor social work staff, providing guidance on patient care and case management practices.
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess client needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Oversee the implementation of home community care services, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality and privacy.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate behavioral health services and support client progress.
  • Monitor staff performance, providing feedback and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with industry trends and best practices.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • Proven experience in social work, mental health counseling, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of patient care protocols, case management strategies, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of work.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possession of a Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • Active Social worker license in California.
  • Six (6) months (1000 hours) of social work experience in a health care setting. This experience may be gained from supervised field placement during the Master's in Social Work (MSW) program or from post-graduate social work experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $ $42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
