is engaged on a search for a
Lead Accountant
with a high growth, Austin based client. In this role, you'll take ownership of core accounting operations, drive the month-end close process, and help strengthen internal controls and financial reporting.
You'll partner cross-functionally with teams across the business to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency — and play a key role in identifying process improvements that make an impact. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves getting into the details but also enjoys thinking strategically about how to improve systems and workflows.
HYBRID Schedule- 4 days in office/1 remote- Austin, Texas
What You'll Do
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger and financial records.
- Assist in preparing financial statements in accordance with
US GAAP
. - Support annual external audits and ensure compliance with all audit requirements.
- Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Analyze account balances to uncover insights, trends, and potential risks.
What We're Looking For
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum
2 years
in public accounting. - 4–5 years
of hands-on general ledger accounting experience. - Strong working knowledge of
US GAAP
and accounting best practices.
Preferred
- Experience with
Microsoft Dynamics 365 - Exposure to
inventory accounting
,
lease accounting
, or
tax financial reporting
. - Active
CPA
certification.
