POSITION OVERVIEW
The Dining Room Manager at Belle Meade Country Club is a hands-on leader responsible for the daily operation of the Club's a la carte dining venues — including The Iroquois Room and Bar, 1901, Back Bar, The Porch, and Terrace. Each outlet offers a distinct experience, from refined fine dining with linen service and elegant fixtures to elevated casual spaces with a lively, club-friendly atmosphere.
This role requires a passionate hospitality professional who leads by example, develops and inspires a high-performing team, and ensures that every member and guest experience reflects the Club's tradition of excellence and warmth. The Dining Room Manager partners closely with the culinary and reservations teams to create seamless service, consistent standards, and a genuine culture of hospitality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB DUTIES
1. Logistics and Operations Excellence
- Oversee daily operations and readiness of all dining outlets, ensuring consistency with Club standards and service expectations.
- Coordinate with culinary leadership to deliver efficient, timely, and elegant service.
- Schedule staff in accordance with forecasted business levels and budgetary goals.
- Maintain an organized, well-stocked front-of-house with proper inventory of service items, menus, and uniforms.
- Ensure all dining areas are clean, polished, and show-ready before every service period.
2. Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, train, and mentor front-of-house staff, including servers, food runners, and reservation team members.
- Lead pre-shift meetings to communicate menu changes, service priorities, and motivational goals.
- Develop and implement ongoing training programs focused on hospitality standards, service excellence, and professional growth.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment built on teamwork, respect, and accountability.
- Uphold appearance and uniform standards to maintain a refined presentation throughout all outlets.
3. Member & Guest Engagement
- Build lasting relationships with members and their guests, learning preferences to deliver personalized, anticipatory service.
- Proactively manage member feedback and concerns with professionalism, discretion, and follow-through.
- Serve as a visible presence on the floor, leading service by example and ensuring a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
4. Quality Control & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and adjust service flow in real time to maintain smooth and consistent operations.
- Observe and coach staff to ensure adherence to steps of service and performance standards.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify process improvements and elevate the overall dining experience.
5. Safety, Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety and professionalism across all service areas.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices to keep Belle Meade at the forefront of private club dining.
6. Problem Solving
- Address and resolve issues promptly and professionally during service.
- Implement systems and processes to prevent recurring issues and improve service flow.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of front-of-house management experience in a private club, fine dining, or upscale hospitality setting.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach, inspire, and hold teams accountable.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on hospitality and service recovery.
- Organized and detail-oriented with proven success managing multiple venues and service styles.
- Proficiency in POS systems and standard office software.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
