MASTER SCHEDULER

Position Summary/Objective:

Responsible for evaluating and implementing the most effective planning practices that will help control workflow.   This role will have responsibility to ensure overall scheduling accuracy and on time delivery, working closely with the Champlain Cable Sales team

Essential Functions (to include other duties assigned):

·      Interact with Sales to determine the best scenario for supporting the customer's requested delivery dates, including determining the best use of our manufacturing capacity. 

·      Convey a sense of customer centric attitude within the operations department. 

·      Provide the support, knowledge, and expertise to manage the production flow of wire and cable through our plant.

·      Ensure that the product is released in a timely manner and that necessary work orders are available to the manufacturing staff.

·      Interact with Manufacturing, Sales, Customer Service and Procurement to best determine the most efficient and timely delivery of product to our customers. 

·      Communicate with Management on the recommendations to best support our goal to meet customer dates. 

·      Provide insight into capacity, volume, workload, and raw material availability to assist purchasing, manufacturing and shipping employee(s) to best manage the processing of work through the manufacturing facility.

·      Provide Operations Management with recommendations on staffing and overtime that may be required to support shipment goals.

·      Weekly tracking and report on projected "lates" for each month and provide detail on the reason for the "lates". If corrective action be taken to eliminate the "lates", make recommendations to CCC Operations Management Team to solve the projected late shipments.

·      Specific duties and responsibilities outlined in the environmental management system manual, including but not limited to:

  • Perform job in a compliant and environmentally safe manner.
  • Follow all facility environmental policies and procedures.
  • Engage in continual improvement efforts to reduce environmental impacts.
  • Report all environmental incidents or concerns to EHS manager.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Education and Experience:

  • 10 + years' experience in operations including supply chain, planning, manufacturing, quality or distribution.
  • Experience with basic SAP as it relates to production planning, QA or manufacturing.
  • Fundamental project management skills.
