Manpower Engineering is seeking a hands-on Controls Engineer/PLC Programmer to join our client's innovation team and help develop a cutting-edge prototype for automated restaurant equipment. This is a unique opportunity to work on a high-impact project that blends creativity, engineering, and automation. Contract role anticipated to last at least 6 mo
.
Possible consideration to extend and/or convert to perm hire down the road.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement ladder logic programs from template and from scratch.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to specify sensors, motors, and electrical components.
  • Complete electrical BOM and create controls wiring diagrams.
  • Integrate and debug motion systems, stepper motors, gantry systems, and sensors.
  • Program and test motion, recovery, and fault sequences for a 3-axis stepper-based motion system.
  • Ensure compliance with ANSI/CE/TUV or UL standards.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of PLC programming experience.
  • Strong ladder logic programming and debugging skills.
  • Experience with AutomationDirect PLCs preferred but not required. Rockwell, Allen-Bradley or Siemens background will have no problems with this.
  • Knowledge of sensors, stepper motors, and other electrical components
  • Ability to build/wire and troubleshoot panels & devices (120vac & low voltage)
  • Ability to read, modify, and create wiring diagrams
  • Familiarity with recipe/data management, remote data logging, or MQTT protocol is a plus.
  • Passion for automation and innovation.
