About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled Insurance Claims Manager to oversee our claims department and ensure efficient, accurate processing of claims for Medical Gap, Accident, Critical Illness, Cancer and Hospital Indemnity insurance products. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership abilities and a deep understanding of supplemental health insurance claims management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily claims operations, ensuring timely and accurate adjudication of claims.
- Supervise a team of claims examiners and support staff, providing coaching and performance feedback.
- Oversee claims handling for Medical Gap, Accident, Critical Illness, Cancer and Hospital Indemnity products.
- Develop and refine claims procedures to improve department efficiency and service quality.
- Ensure full compliance with state and federal regulations as well as company policies.
- Collaborate with underwriting, customer service, and finance teams on complex claims resolutions.
- Prepare reports and analytics to present to senior leadership.
- Stay current on industry trends, product updates, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 5 years of experience managing claims for supplemental health products.
- Strong working knowledge of Medical Gap, Accident, Critical Illness, Cancer and Hospital Indemnity insurance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPCU, AIC, or FLMI designation.
- Experience with digital or automated claims processing tools.
