Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with all regulations.
  • Plan and follow optimal delivery routes to meet schedules while adhering to traffic laws and safety standards.
  • Secure freight properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and vehicle maintenance records.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery status or any issues encountered en route.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations at all times.

Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL)
  • Willingness to learn to gain experience in truck driving, including route driving and freight delivery.
  • Proficiency in operating automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Willingness to learn to gain a strong knowledge of safety procedures and transportation regulations.
  • Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan efficient routes.
  • Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and perform strapping the load as needed for securement.
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with dispatch and customers.
