Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary School Teacher to inspire and educate young learners in a supportive classroom environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly in early childhood education and special education settings. This role involves developing engaging lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and collaborating with colleagues to foster a positive learning atmosphere. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, classroom management expertise, and a commitment to supporting diverse student needs, including those with developmental disabilities or requiring speech therapy and behavioral health interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across subjects such as literacy, math, and science.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students, including those with autism, disabilities, or in early intervention programs.
  • Manage classroom behavior through effective behavioral management techniques and create an inclusive environment conducive to learning.
  • Conduct assessments using standardized testing and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students requiring special education services.
  • Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other specialists to support students' developmental progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessments; prepare reports for parents and administrators.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to curriculum development, childhood development, deaf education, Montessori methods, or preschool experience as applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student achievements and areas for growth.
  • Participate in school meetings, staff training sessions, and extracurricular activities aimed at enriching student experiences.

Experience

  • Prior classroom experience working with students is preferred, but we are open to coaching a newly certified teacher.
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and classroom management.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities or developmental delays—including autism spectrum disorder—and familiarity with IEP processes.
  • Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, behavioral health strategies, and behavioral therapy approaches is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with students requiring early intervention services or special education accommodations.
  • Strong communication skills for mentoring students and collaborating with colleagues and families.
  • Experience utilizing library services or integrating technology into lessons is a plus. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90, $100,000.00 per year
