Woodshop Supervisor

Position: Woodshop Supervisor

Hours: Full Time, Monday-Friday

Pay Rate: $60,000-$70,000 salary

As a leader in the packaging industry for over 40 years, Philpac, a local family-owned business, is currently seeking a full-time Woodshop Supervisor based at our Kenmore, NY facility. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and has the following key responsibilities and requirements:

Ø Working closely with management to maintain on-time deliveries and work scheduling

Ø Ensuring accuracy of design plans prior to production

Ø Supervising production employees and delegating work for completion, as scheduled

Ø Inspecting the quality and accuracy of the finished product

Ø Monitoring inventory and materials used daily

Ø Assisting outside sales representatives in determining customer requirements

In addition, the Woodshop Supervisor may need to support the team by assisting with work during vacations or periods of heavy order activity.

Requirements:

Ø High school diploma or equivalent required

Ø 3-5 years of prior woodworking or related experience is required

Ø Prior experience with design plans and/or blueprints is desired

Ø Experience operating a forklift is preferred

Skills/Abilities/Physical demands:

Ø The candidate must be reliable

Ø An understanding of how to use a tape measure, as well as the ability to read it

Ø A basic understanding of mathematics (particularly the use of fractions) is required

Ø Requires the use of hands & arms frequently

Ø Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50lbs occasionally

Ø Frequent requirement for standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, and crouching

Ø Climbing stairs and ladders is occasionally required
