Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team in providing exceptional care within our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of nursing administration, management, and clinical practices across various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, home health, hospice care, and acute care. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with strong supervisory skills and a deep understanding of healthcare regulations and documentation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Active role in identifying and addressing quality issues, and implementing
  • corrective action and plan as necessary.
  • -Develops and maintains a good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel, as well as other Facility departments, to assure that the departmental services and activities can be properly maintained to meet the needs of residents/patients.
  • Supports and maintains Nursing Services objectives and standards.
  • Assist with implementing and coordinating Departmental policies, procedure and job descriptions.
  • Interprets Department policies and procedures to staff, resident/patients, visitors, etc., as necessary.
  • Ensures that resident/patients rights are maintained.
  • Participates in programs designed for in-service education and orientation classes for new Nursing Department hirees, as well as ongoing in-service education programs.
  • Maintains an excellent working relationship with the Medical Staff.
  • Assist in the hiring of competent Departmental personnel.
  • Meets with Departmental personnel as scheduled and as needed.
  • Assists in identifying and correcting problem areas and/or improvement of services.
  • Makes daily rounds in the nursing units, making certain that resident care are appropriately provided.
  • Monitors and reviews the documentations on new admissions making certain that their needs are met (i.e. physician was notified, orders were obtained, medications were available, etc.)
  • Monitors nursing employee's adherence to facility policies related to wound care, meal service, safeguarding of controlled medications, provision of resident care, etc.
  • Maintains an adequate liaison with families and resident/patients.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in nursing leadership roles within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health agencies, or hospice organizations.
  • Strong background in nursing administration with demonstrated management and supervising experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and the principles of nursing practice.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation review and medical records management.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements related to patient privacy and data security.
  • Experience managing care plans aligned with Medicare regulations and other funding sources.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage shift operations effectively while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to interpret clinical data accurately and implement improvements based on findings.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, residents' families, regulatory agencies, and healthcare providers. Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of (5) years experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other related health facility.

  • New York State Licensed Professional Nurse.
  • Minimum of BSN.
  • PRI Certified.
  • MDS Knowledge.
  • Care Planning and Assessment knowledge.
  • Knowledge of performance improvement activities and data collection.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $105, $120,000.00 per year
