Responsibilities

  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics, such as leaves and compensation, and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
  • Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies
  • Undertake tasks around performance management
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates
  • Organize quarterly and annual employee performance reviews
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits, and organizing team building activities

Qualifications

  • Commitment to unbiased and equitable hiring, with a focus on outreach to historically marginalized communities
  • Additional HR training will be a plus
  • Bachelor's/BA in Business administration or relevant field
  • Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach
  • Aptitude in problem-solving
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. PeopleSoft) will be a plus
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist

Job Highlights

  • 6-12 month contract to hire
  • 36 hours a week, working 4, 9 hour days/week, can select day off.

Must Have

  • expereince with leave management, employee relations, training and development, and HR policy creation and implementation.
  • Strong understading of California labor laws, employment compliance and HR Best Practices
  • Ability to handle sesitive information with professionalist and descretion
  • 5+ years of HR experience with at least 3 at the generalist level. Bachelors degree preferred.

Compensation

  • $38 - $40 /hour Pay Rate
