3Vi is an engineering practice headquartered in California, with offices in San Ramon, San Jose, Petaluma, and Santa Monica. We are currently seeking a
Senior Engineer
to join our dynamic team of engineers and designers.

This position is remote/hybrid, based out of one of our Northern California offices, San Ramon, San Jose, or Petaluma (2-3 days in the office per week). Flexibility to support client needs, including working from client offices or project sites, is essential to fulfilling the responsibilities of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare professional technical reports, studies, electrical calculations, and drawing markups.
  • Support project manager with day-to-day coordination of deliverables, tracking status, and schedule.
  • Read and interpret client specifications and performance requirements.
  • Interpret and apply relevant electrical codes, including NEC, NFPA, and California Electric Code.
  • Develop compliant designs for low voltage distribution, medium voltage distribution, lighting, fire detection, lightning protection, EV charging, and grounding and bonding.
  • Produce lighting design calculations, reports, and photometric drawings
  • Develop designs for EV charging systems
  • Review and/or develop electrical simulations in ETAP/SKM or equivalent, including volt drop, short circuit calculations, arc flash, dynamic motor starting, and grounding studies.
  • Read, interpret, and implement requirements derived from client design criteria manuals, specifications, and other contractual documents.
  • Review shop drawings and product data sheets
  • Calculate cable and conduit sizes, schedules, and determine conduit routing methodology for a BIM/Revit environment.
  • Participate in daily meetings with the 3Vi design team and our clients.
  • Coordinate with a diverse engineering team and work diligently to meet the project deadlines.
  • Participate in site visits on client projects, as needed. This may include occasional night shifts, if required by the client.

Qualifications

  • Min. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
  • California P.E. Electrical a plus (or ability to obtain)
  • Min. 4 years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • Experience with ETAP or SKM a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • California driver's license required
  • Preference will be given to candidates located in the Los Angeles area or San Francisco Bay Area.

Compensation Benefits

Salary $125,000 - $185,000 per year (depending on experience) plus benefits:
