General Description of Position:

The Senior Associate is the first promotion that can be achieved by an Associate. This position is available at any time for an Associate to apply for. To be qualified for this position Associates must be able to show key skills in the Point of Sale System, sales, Inventory management, merchandising, and product knowledge. Senior Associates are expected to be leaders among their peers, be able to problem solve independently, and be autonomous in the daily work that needs to get done. This position is able to resolve customer complaints independently and find win-win solutions. The Senior Associate is the right hand of the Shift Leads and responsible for backing up the leadership team on any decisions they make.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Be a cornerstone of knowledge on the retail floor.
  • Confidently work in any retail department and speak intelligently about any product sold at their location.
  • Perform advanced Point of Sale and Warehouse Management Systems functions: open/close register, voucher in inventory, slip items, adjust inventory, and create manual transfers.
  • Be able to effectively train Associates on the retail floor on operations and product knowledge.
  • Work directly with the Shift Leads to implement and uphold Retail Floor operations.
  • Perform regular cycle counts on store inventory.
  • Be a master of merchandising products, and creating retail displays.
  • Regularly monitor that all Associates are following safety protocols.
  • Buy used gear the Next Adventure way and know how to use the RAPID software.
  • Be able to handle customer complaints and find win-win solutions.
  • To help facilitate warranty claims properly, while being able to identify unique solutions outside of the manufacturer's warranty.
  • Be able to work effectively in the rental department as needed and meet the standards laid out for all entry level Technicians.
  • Perform basic Rental functions: issuing rental articles, returning rental articles, creating customer profiles, and setting up reservations.
    • Sandy and Grand- Perform moderate level boot fitting skills: must be able to measure in mondo point, read last, shell fit, size boots properly, perform liner heat molds, adjust canting, cut/fit insoles, and know when to ask for help.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working as a Next Adventure Associate or equivalent.
  • Ability to confidently discuss and demonstrate knowledge of a broad range of outdoor gear across multiple activities.
  • Have attended several industry clinics.
  • Have received Next Adventure's used gear buyers training or equivalent.
  • Have experience handling warranty claims and customer complaints.
  • Ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Enjoys and thrives working with a team.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to talk in general about any outdoor gear.
  • Light to moderate lifting, with reasonable accommodation.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
