Job Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW
Our Machine Builder will be responsible for assisting in the assembly, installation, and basic troubleshooting of automated machinery and equipment. This entry-level role is designed for individuals eager to learn the fundamentals of machine building while working alongside experienced team members. The Machine Builder Level 1 will be involved in mechanical assembly, wiring, and testing of automation systems, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
TOP 5 RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Assemble machine components using hand tools and basic machinery.
2) Understand and follow basic technical drawings and assembly instructions.
3) Examine all parts and components for defects prior to assembly.
4) Ensure that tools and equipment used in the assembly process are properly maintained and cleaned.
5) Adhere safety protocols and wear the necessary protective gear.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
- Assist in assembling mechanical components and subassemblies according to engineering drawings and schematics.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines while handling tools and equipment.
- Work closely with senior builders and engineers to complete projects on schedule.
- Conduct basic functional tests on assembled machines to ensure proper operation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and parts are properly stored.
- Continuously develop technical skills through on-the-job training and mentorship.
- Perform basic wiring and electrical installations under supervision.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- 1-2 plus years' experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or vocational training is a plus.
- Vocational school or junior technical college training in related industry.
- Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing noted tasks related to machinery building and repair work.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings (preferred but not required).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the automation industry.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel on installs inside and outside the United States
- Must furnish the basic hand tools of the trade
- Ability to operate a forklift

- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times
