Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Gas/Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with hands-on experience in dealing with various types of equipment and vehicles. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Gas/Diesel Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining gas/Diesel-powered equipment and vehicles, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair gas/Diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, including automotive systems such as transmissions, brakes, and HVAC systems.
- Perform routine maintenance on a variety of machinery including farm machinery, industrial equipment, and heavy equipment.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators and cranes safely and efficiently.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and assembly tasks.
- Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical issues effectively.
- Conduct inspections on vehicles for safety compliance and operational efficiency.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols during all operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in automotive diagnostics and repair; dealership and or independent shop experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance, including diesel engine repair, brake repair, alignment, hydraulics, suspension systems, shocks & struts, tire service, and air brake systems.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques.
- Experience as a service technician is highly desirable; electrical experience is also beneficial.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely as required by the job duties.
