Job Description:  Position Summary: Occupational Therapist at iMotion Physical Therapy

Broad Responsibilities: As an Occupational Therapist at iMotion Physical Therapy, you will be pivotal in guiding patients through their rehabilitation journey. Your core responsibility is delivering exceptional patient care in occupational therapy, applying your expertise to craft and execute personalized treatment strategies.

You will be responsible for the following Duties:   Patient Assessment and Treatment Planning:
  • Assess patient conditions by interpreting evaluations and test results. 
  • Develop occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or based on prescriptions.  
Therapeutic Interventions:
  • Assist patients in accomplishing treatment goals through manual exercises, functional activities, and education on daily living activities.  
  • Monitor and adjust the fit and function of prosthetic and orthotic devices.  
Patient and Family Education:
  • Design home exercise programs and instruct patients and their families on their implementation. 
  • Educate patients and families about the use and care of assistive devices.  
Documentation and Compliance:
  • Document patient care services thoroughly in patient and department records.  
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements.  
Safety and Equipment Maintenance:
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety guidelines.  
  • Ensure the operation of therapy equipment by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and arranging for repairs.  
Professional Development:
  • Continuously advance professional knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.  
  • Develop and conduct in-service training programs for the therapy team.  
  • May serves as a clinical instructor for Occupational therapy and Occupational therapy assistant students. Interdisciplinary Collaboration and
Leadership:
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary care conferences by providing expert insight into the therapeutic needs and progress of patients.  
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to enhance practice efficiency and develop new clinical programs.  
  • Oversee program development, including the implementation of patient care teams and the creation of orientation materials.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements for the Physical Therapist at iMotion Physical Therapy:

  • Must be fluent in English.

Licensing Requirements:
  • Must possess a valid Occupational Therapist License for California.
