Summary: As part of the leadership team, the Shift Manager is an ambassador of the Stafford Kobe brand and facilitates the loyalty of our guests and profit maximization. Team members in this role may work in this position, as well as other roles they are efficient in and will be scheduled based upon restaurant need. The leadership team works in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. The role may require long hours, standing for extended periods, and occasional lifting or moving of supplies.

Education/Experience: A minimum of 1 year experience in a restaurant is required. Prior experience in a leadership/management position preferred.

Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Daily operations

Independently manage day-to-day operations of the restaurant during scheduled shifts, including opening and closing the facility. Bartending is a key aspect of this position, managing responsible service of alcohol; Front of house fill in - manage togo orders when togo team member not working, as well as seating & serving tables as needed. Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely manner. Investigate and resolve food quality/service issues with assistance from other members of leadership team; Daily cash reconciliation, tracking & end of shift tip outs. Performs weekly inventory within their area of responsibility, notify General Manager of items needed. Ensure compliance with food safety guidelines. Work with staff to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. Maximize table turnover, sales per guest, and sales per hour by working with all employees.

Employee Management

Assist in finding coverage when employees call out. Communicate with the restaurant staff concerning the quality of service, cleanliness, and safety. Trains & coaches team members on customer service, food safety, and restaurant policies; Assist in development & implementation of standardized staff training program. Assist team members with job duties during peak hours.

Qualifications

Communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with staff, customers, and vendors; Strong problem-solving skills to address issues that may arise during operations; Basic personal computer literacy; Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously; Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends and holidays. Reliable transportation required. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time without rest. Ability to freely access all areas of restaurant including dining floors, stock areas, and register area; Self-motivated, goal oriented and dependable. Ability to be a role model in employee appearance and presentation; Can taste and smell;
