       Primary Purpose:   Serve as clerk to the Child Nutrition Services Director and as facilitator for the school/public being served in communicating information, material acquisition, and record keeping.  Qualifications: Education/Certification:
    Must be 18 years or age or older
    High School Diploma or GED
    Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting check
       
    Special Knowledge/Skills:
    Effective planning and organizational skills.
    Keeps records to account for daily transactions.
    Keeps records of lunch applications
    Ability to maintain accurate and audit-able records.
    Ability to use calculator (10-key by touch).
    Ability to use personal computer and software.
    Proficiency in typing, keyboarding, and file maintenance.
    Ability to work with numbers in accurate and rapid manner to meet established deadlines.
    Ability to work with campuses and parents to expedite the application process.
    Ability to communicate effectively (Bilingual preferred). Major Responsibilities and Duties: 
  1. Keeps all records, applications and daily total of eligible students for free and reduced lunches for each school.
  2. Assist parents complete and review lunch applications.
  3. Input all information on students qualifying for free and reduce lunch.
  4. Notify applicant of eligibility status.
  5. Supervise and train substitute clerks, working with lunch applications.
  6. Communicate with Cafeteria Managers and workers to ensure that all eligible students receive their free or reduced lunch.
  7. Annually update the Policy Statement for Free and Reduced-Price Meals.
  8. Prepare Public/Media Release for Free and Reduced-Price Meals to be released prior to the first week of school.
  9. Prepare Lunch Applications to be printed by modifying applications downloaded from TDA website.
  10. Order paper for applications, send print order to print shop, and make sure that all schools have plenty of lunch applications in English and Spanish for preregistration in July.
  11. Must complete the Direct Certification Process.
  12. Must verify lunch application according to guidelines.
  13. Ensure each campus free and reduce list coincides with the information kept at Food Services for submission on PEIMS.
  14. Daily and monthly backup of the POS system.
  15. Monthly must print from POS system the monthly reports required to do the Monthly Claim for Reimbursement.
  16. Work with company providing the POS system to ensure accurate data.
  17. Daily attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.
  Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolong periods of sitting, walking, standing, bending, and stooping
Motion: Long periods of arm, hand, finger movement
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (up to 40+ lbs.)
Mental Demands: Ability to keep a pleasant personality when greeting public and answering telephone;
maintain emotional control under stress
