Position Summary: School Psychologists provide comprehensive psychological services to support the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success of students. This position is responsible for administering and interpreting psychological and educational evaluations, preparing detailed written reports, and collaborating with educators, families, and community providers to develop and implement effective interventions. The School Psychologist serves as both a consultant and program designer to address the diverse needs of students and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Hold or be eligible for a valid Delaware School Psychologist Standard Certificate in accordance with 14 Del. C. § 1583

Performance Responsibilities: This list is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or ability associated with this role but is intended to accurately reflect the principle job elements.

  • Perform psychological services and administer and interpret psychological evaluations.
  • ?Complete written evaluation reports, progress notes and letters.
  • Review assessment information from providers to determine service options to meet the needs of students.
  • Review students' cumulative records.
  • Review referrals for testing, determine additional information needed
  • Conduct classroom observations, gather and organize data.
  • Consultant to, and/or designer of, programs to meet the needs of students with diverse educational and emotional characteristics.
  • Consult and collaborate with school personnel and family members.
  • Conduct individual and group therapy.
  • Participate in IEP, manifestation, behavior plan, evaluation result, and school-wide data meetings.
  • Provide crisis intervention services including suicide and threat assessments.
  • Assist in designing, planning and presenting professional development sessions.
  • Maintain student records adequately and protect their confidentiality.

Essential Employment Condition: By accepting employment as an 11-month employee with the Milford School District, you acknowledge and understand that:
  • A primary responsibility during the summer months (June–August) is to support district-run summer programming for special education students, Extended School Year (ESY), and/or other specialized instructional or support services.
  • 11-month employees are expected to maintain flexibility in scheduling to fulfill assigned duties related to summer instruction, student services, or program coordination. The Director of Special Programs shall make every effort to inform 11-month employees of their assigned summer responsibilities by the end of May.

Terms of Employment: Eleven-month (11) full-time employee. The 11-month work calendar includes an extended contract period beyond the standard 10-month schedule, encompassing 19 summer days or 142.5 hours assigned by the Director of Special Programs.

Salary: Salary schedule is based on experience and degree and can be found on the district website: Compensation will be adjusted to reflect the total 11-month term, inclusive of these additional responsibilities.

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated annually according to the Board's policy on professional personnel evaluation.
